Float Houston Health and Wellness was so relaxing and rejuvenating!!! I’m definitely going to add these therapies to my regular self care routine. First of all, the owner, Camarie, who is a wonderful friend of ours, was amazing at walking us through all that she had to offer us. Her mere presence was relaxing in the way of someone who loves and believes in what she is offering you. Her being your guide elevates the experience right off the bat! The ambiance is calming, with interesting decorative lighting and really nice tea in the lounge where you begin. I loved the float tank but my favorite part was actually the zero gravity chair. It’s a chair that reclines to a zero gravity position and it has a cushion and headphones that vibrate. Music plays and the chair vibrates along to the music and you feel it in different parts of your body. I suffer from a lot of chronic pain in my back and especially my hips and while I was in the chair I FELT NONE OF IT!!!! I was so relaxed and painless that I was able to focus on, and literally FEEL the music. It was crazy, I even saw beautiful colors, light sky blue and lavender swirls and even sometimes a melon-y pink. When it was over I was overcome with emotion and cried. Luckily Camarie was there to hold me 🤣🤣🤣. After the chair I went in for my float, which was amazing. You can chose wether to close the door of the tank or turn the light off inside and I decided, despite being claustrophobic, to go ahead and go for it with the door closed and the lights off. I wasn’t scared at all. Once I got settled in it was just so nice. With no distracting input I was able to just spend time with myself. Sometimes I thought about stuff; sometimes I would start playing around in there, pushing off of the walls with my hands and feet. I spent time in several different positions but found my favorite to be with my toes together and then my fingers together up over my head. I was really worried going in that I would focus on negative thoughts but it was easy to shoo those away and get back to just enjoying the experience. At one point I even started singing. Afterwards I feel uber relaxed. The pains I normally feel are still there but they are FAR less. I feel refreshed and relaxed, physically and emotionally. I realize now as I write this that my brow isn’t furrowed like it usually is. I would absolutely recommend that everyone try this experience. I will definitely be going back regularly.

I have heard about floating but never tried it. As a mom of 3 children and wife and equine professional, I am always going and I am always thinking and planning and making arrangements for someone or something. My first float was amazing. My mind was quiet and my body relaxed and for days after I felt centered and calm. I will be bringing my husband!! This is a very simple solution to today’s hectic pace. There are no negative side effects. The beneficial side effective last for days.I recommend Float Houston to anyone that needs a “break”. Michelle L.

Wow spelled backwards is Wow. I have been meditating for some time now and this is the elevation of my meditation practices. Spiritually it felt so free and physically it was as if my batteries were filled to capacity. I have already told several friends and they are all making plans to join me on the floating bandwagon. I have made a commitment that this will be an intricate part of my spiritual and physical development. Thanks Michelle and Flower Child for a great experience. Brother Evans

As a busy surgical resident and father, the absence of stress is a luxury I rarely experience. Since I’ve begun floating at Michelle’s center, I have noticed an increased resilience to stress, significant post-float improvement in my ability to relax that can last up to 5 or more days and an overall sense of wellness that I attribute to flotation therapy. I try to float at least once a week. Michelle offers a valuable service that is otherwise unavailable in the Houston area. D Sahni

Float Houston was an incredible experience. As a busy Yoga teacher and work out enthusiast I often put my body , muscles, and joint structures to the test. My experiences floating brought me peace, balance and an over sense of well being. I was able to relax, meditate and all my body to completely release. In addition, my husband floated with me twice and he had a shoulder that had been bothering him for over a year. He had cut down a tree that froze one year and his shoulder never went back to normal , it always hurt him until his float- he completely released and for the first time in over a year was feeling the effects of completely releasing his shoulder. The pain has not returned and this is a couple years later. I was able to meditate after releasing my body, the feeling of weightlessness enabled me to go deeper in my meditation and bring mind, body and soul into balance. I highly recommend. I do meditation and Yoga with people bedside at St. Luke’s Episcopal hospital- I work with pain patients and I would also suggest that this environment is very healing for dealing with a variety of pain and physical ailments. Such an amazing experience! It was incredibly easy to clear my mind and relax! If everyone did this for themselves once or twice a month the world would be a better place! So looking forward to my next float!

Love it. But don’t make any pre-determined opinions based on others, you need to try it to know if it’s for you. (Which it is) Jason Waggoner

Prior to floating I had been playing basketball for three hours and was extremely sore. To my amazement after only 60 minutes in the tank I felt refreshed and ready to play ball another three hours. Needless to say I am very impressed with floating and have made it a part of my life. For me floating is like nothing I’ve ever experienced before and now I use it in tandem with my meditation.

I’ve been meditating for 4 years so when a friend of mine told me “I need to try floating”, at first I was hesitant, but I am open to try anything. My first float was an hour. Like with meditation, it took the mind a minute or so to get acclimated to its new environment, but once it did I had some pretty awesome experiences in the tank – What I call spiritual experiences. I tried this service because a family member had done a float in England and raved about it.  Wow!!! It was everything I had hoped for, and more.  First you are greeted by a charming hostess.  There is Zen music playing, candles, and she has a soft energy about her that makes you feel warm and toasty when you enter.  It doesn’t look much like a residence inside because she has things nicely decorated with Oriental panels that block off any sense of it being residential inside.

You get to take a shower before the float, which makes you feel like everything is clean and sanitized, which it is.  She provides all the hygeine things you will need including shampoo and deodorant, all of which is natural, of course.

There are two float tanks, and if you go with a friend, there is a curtain for privacy.  I suggest you go au-natural for complete sensory deprivation.  If you are nervous, don’t be.  There is a button inside the tank for immediate light, and you can lift the top by simply pushing it with your finger if  you feel you need to open it.  I always imagined sensory deprivation as something where people were watching you and it might be scary, but this is personalized, safe, and private.

Your experience may be different from mine, and the friends and family I have taken since our first float have all had different, but amazing experiences.  It is, at the least, one of the most amazing and deep meditative states possible.  Even those who have minds that chatter will find this experience incredibly calming.  For your first float, expect it to take a while to empty your mind, but it’s certainly possible in this beautiful environment.

I’ve had friends who have had full out Angel experiences or something like psychedelic stuff happen.  I go into a deep meditative state and probably travel outside my body.  It’s not scary; it’s something you will remember forever and want to do again and again.  We have become regular customers and I try to get visitors to my home in Houston to experience this firsthand.  I haven’t taken anyone who wasn’t absolutely mind-blown at how cool this is.

She has discounted pricing for multiple floats, which I highly recommend.  Each successive float is even better than the last, if that’s even possible! Paula V.

I floated for the first time today. It was such a great experience. I floated for an hour and it felt like five minutes. My body felt so heavy and noodle like afterward.Hours later and I still feel incredibly relaxed.

I’m actually considering this a “pre-visit” testimonial purely based upon the reviews and the stories I’ve received after telling people about Float Tanks. EVERYONE ~ get out to Float Houston Health & Wellness & tell your friends. Even if they act skeptical at first, a lot of them will end up going eventually. Soon enough, they will share their unique experience(s) with you. I look forward to following-up on this and writing an actual testimonial on Float Houston H&W even though it feels like I’ve already been there before. Can’t wait… see you guys soon! Joe Balzen

I just floated for the first time. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the experience, but am always open to try new things. All I can say is that my experience at Float Houston was amazing, and Michelle (the owner) put me at ease by explaining what I might expect. When she first told me the session was an hour I thought to myself, “That is a long time, maybe too long!” Then while I was in the tank I remember having a brief thought, before going to lala land, “I’m not ready for this experience to end!” I absolutely loved it!! I came out feeling super relaxed, but also refreshed and renewed. I am excited to try it again, and to tell everybody about how awesome my experience was. That night I slept like a baby. Thanks Michelle for an AWESOME float, I look forward to coming again soon. Carol Culver

As an avid athlete and meditator, this has been an incredible addition to my life and mind. I am on a journey to find myself right now. You face your problems head on, but without fear because of relaxation of the body. The experience is great… the next 6 hours out of the float are even better. My joints are in incredible condition now as well for performance. The first hour is a wash your first time. I recommend 90 minutes to start and build from there. My next float with these amazing deals will be at least 3 hours. Bob Melan

I had heard a lot about floating online and was curious to try it out. Although it took myself a while to get acclimated the first time, I left feeling completely refreshed. Working 9 hours a day at a desk can take a toll on you, both physically and mentally. Floating allows me to alleviate stress and relax my body after a long week. Michelle R.

I had read about it online for awhile, and decided it was worth a try. I can’t begin to describe the mental and physical clarity I experienced after emerging from my float, and the week/month to follow. Take the idea of going on a cruise, getting a sports massage, and laying in a hammock on the Caribbean, all wrapped into one; and you have a 60-90 minute float. At least go once, it may open passages of reality you didn’t know could exist. John K.

“As a Quaker in the 4th largest city in the US, it’s difficult to find quiet, calming spaces for meditation. As a massage therapist I know the importance of taking care of all aspects of our beings – mind, body, heart, and spirit. Float Houston is a place where both can happen. I am so grateful to know that Float Houston is available for me and all Houstonians who are looking for healing in body and in soul.” ~ JJ Lassberg, Licensed Massage Therapist, Massage Institute of Houston JJ Lassberg
